What Does It Mean to Truly Set Yourself Free?
Set Yourself Free
To Find Yourself
A Personal Experience
AB
For the longest time, I thought I was set free, but when I reflected on the way I lived and the decisions I made, I realized that I was anything but free.
Repeatedly, I made decisions based on what others wanted me to do, not what would make me happy—not what I truly wanted to do.
Once I realized that, I began to make decisions for myself.
The process was challenging. It was daunting, but it changed my life for the better.
Setting yourself free means ending friendships that do not align with your life and losing people you care about deeply.
You set yourself free by becoming a new person, which can sometimes be hard to accept.
We’re so comfortable with the labels that define us. These labels are who we believe we are at our core. It’s how we identify ourselves.
Once those labels change, even if it’s a shift toward our desired lives, we lose a part of ourselves, and oftentimes, that loss can be scary or confusing.
But setting yourself free also means finding more joy in your life. It means feeling relief when you know you have made the right decision and are content with how you live.
Setting yourself free is a process that changes who you are. It allows you to create a life that fulfills your needs, desires, and goals.
Setting yourself free is a journey that can shake you to the core,
but
It’s a necessary pain that leads to lasting happiness.
To Be Set Free
Setting myself free was the best decision I could have ever made for myself, but I could not have done it without the inspiration from others – those who unintentionally paved the way to my journey of being set free.
So find your inspiration, and do not let fear stop you from living a life that sets you free.
